Our journey began in the wee hours of the
morning on July 22nd, 2007. We left at 4:30 in the morning.
Everything was timely and everyone was sweet, we even got drinks and snacks (a
luxury often skipped on short flights like NY to Florida) and they serve Dunkin
Donuts coffee and tea on Jet Blue! Yum! Our plane arrived about 10 minutes
earlier then scheduled and we were off to find our Magical Express bus. We were
2 of the last 3 people boarded on the bus that would stop at The Swan, The
Dolphin, and then our home sweet home for the next week- Caribbean Beach
Resort. We were able to check in around noon, upon arrival at CBR. Our
castmember, whose name I happen to remember was Justin, gave us a card with the
phone number to the resort and told us to call for our room number around 2 or
3. He told us he got us a really “great one” on the first floor but couldn’t
give out the number yet. We took our Keys to the World and put our little
business card into my deluxe Passporter and headed to check out the resort.
Everything was so gorgeous. CBR really is like a
little Caribbean escape in central Florida! However, lunch was not so good
there, I do have to say. Even though breakfast, snacks, and shops were great at
Centertown, we never went back for a lunch re-do after the first day! After
lunch, without hesitation, we headed to Magic Kingdom. The resort buses played
cute steel drum Caribbean versions of songs like Under the Sea and Kiss the
Girl… and even Beach Boys Kokomo, so it was very cool to step on. Once we arrived
in Magic Kingdom and as I looked up as we went through bag check and scanned
our tickets, I felt like I had just gotten home. We took some pictures on our
leisurely walk down Main Street USA.
Our first rides were Snow Whites Scary Adventures and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh- we had missed both of these last time so it was a fun start. I wondered where the crowds were as we waited less than 10 minutes for both. We then tried to pull the Sword from the Stone, no luck! Since lunch had left us wanting and we were thirsty and tired having finished our waters long ago we grabbed frozen Raspberry Lemonades at the Enchanted Grove in Fantasyland! So delish!
Afterwards
we wandered around through Liberty Square and Adventureland, just taking everything
in and eventually walking into a showing of Country Bear Jamboree. I have to
say, I expected more from this… but at least it was a reprieve from the
humidity! I found myself laughing at it more than laughing with it! Haha! We then headed for Tomorrowland where we fast passed Space Mountain. And
while waiting rode both the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and we spotted
Stitch from above as we were about to end our TTA ride so we headed right on
over and were the second people in line! Next was Buzz Lightyear’s Ranger Spin.
We got a hysterical picture from Buzz… we look so serious and aggressive! Haha!
By now it was time to head back to Space Mountain which is just not a favorite
of mine. I love rollercoaster’s
but something about it makes me think Rob is going to be decapitated whenever
we ride this!
