Animal Kingdom uses a rough hub and spoke design for its layout. This park is beautiful and expansive and important to keep that in mind when moving from one place to another.
You enter the park by walking through what is known as the Oasis (you will see a small taste of the flora and fauna that is to come as you walk through the entranceway) which leads you to Discovery Island which is our hub.
From Discovery Island you can reach all the areas of the park:
Rafiki's Planet Watch (accessible through a train in Africa)
Animal Kingdom may be my favorite of the Disney Parks in Florida.
